Everything else
I love to make stuff! This material is largely the result of my comedy collaborations — I want to make more comedy stuff, so please reach out if you're interested in working together!
NIGHT SWIMMING
Made during and about the summer of Coronavirus for Hoff’s Horrorfest, a comedy show and screening series that’s best summed up as “Midnight Movies Meet Late Night Comedy.” I’ve made a ton of videos for Horrorfest as a co-producer and writer for the show, first as a live show at Cantina Royale and then as a weekly streaming series on Twitch. I intend to put more of that work up, but this one is the one I really tried to make as a little short film. It was for our show about Night Tide, a 1960 movie starring Dennis Hopper as a sailor who meets a girl he thinks might be a mermaid. The idea was to make a short that took indirect inspiration from it.
Starring my wife, Natalie Correa, my great friend Patrick Williams, and myself! Music by Haruomi Hosono. I’ll cop to the fact that I didn’t get permission for that, but I also want to gently add that I am not profiting from this in any way. Check out the awesome, rare, completely out of print tape these tracks are from here.
a perfect day in the park
I set up the tripod, hit record, shot the b-roll, and did the sound, color and editing on this. My friend Anne and I completely improvised this! How fun!
Friends in bed
I edited and colored this! Made a couple sneaky audio edits to the song, as well. This was for my friend Andrew’s one-silly-boy-show, which was fantastic, go see Silly Boy!
The Gobble Gambit
Hallmark Channel trailer parody, I edited, colored, “scored,” mixed and did motion graphics for this one. It was written/directed by and starred Kristin Nalivaika.
1-900-DAD
I edited, colored, mixed, etc. I'm also in it! My friend Jonathan Doyle made this.
TWO CIGARETTES
I wrote, directed, edited, acted, etc. Just a fun lil short story inspired by reality.
Wings
I directed, shot and edited this. It was part of a canceled sketch pilot, and it's technically unfinished, but I like it as it is.
what’s the 311? season 2
I edited, colored and fixed up the sound in these! I’m also in a couple of them. The full season playlist is embedded above. Some of the footage was tough, if you can’t tell that Dumbo and Gowanus were purely blue in their raw footage, then I did a pretty good job. I love this series, happy to have had a hand in it!
suicide hotel
This was a live pilot at a competition-style comedy show. It's a workplace comedy set in a hotel where people go to kill themselves. I wrote, directed and acted in this. It came together preeeeetty quickly. Not video work, but whatever, it's creative work so I'm including it as a representation of myself.
